About Florida Travel with Kids
Florida Travel with Kids was started by a family that has been traveling all over Florida for years. We are also locals to the South Florida area. We are here to share our adventures with you and plenty of family-friendly things to do in Florida.
How we travel so often
I (Amy) work full-time from home as a travel agent. The kids are homeschooled, so we are able to go on adventures often! We believe that life is a classroom.
I’ll make a YouTube video soon, sharing exactly what we use for homeschooling. It’s an eclectic mix that includes Teaching Textbooks, Miacademy and MiaPrep, Outschool, and Dual Enrollment at a Florida College.
About Amy
Amy (aka Mom) is a Travel Agent who books Hawaii, Mexico, and Caribbean honeymoons and destination weddings. It’s a pretty cool job, but it didn’t really overlap much with our Florida adventures! So, I (Amy/mom) decided to start Florida Travel with Kids as a secondary blog to share our adventures.
Amy’s favorite things: Travel, of course, hiking in Kauai, visiting Universal Orlando during Mardi Gras, reading books, fostering kitties, and, of course, exploring Florida with the kids!
About Dakota
Dakota is 1/2 of our YouTube channel – 2 Travel Geeks. He enjoys computers and gaming. He is very skilled in graphic design and creating websites. Dakota enjoys visiting new places, but his favorite place is Maui. He loves visiting Universal Orlando, and his favorite ride is Velocicoaster.
About Kainan
Kainan is 17, and he loves building LEGO of all kinds, Star Wars, reading, going to theme parks, eating fruit, and listening to classic rock. His current favorite hobby is DND, and he believes Warlocks are the best class.
Kainan also loves all animals, and some of his favorite activities are animal-related, such as wild dolphin cruises or seeing manatees up close! Kainan works part-time at Target, enjoys playing video games on his PC, and is currently taking college classes through dual enrollment.
About Mikaela
Mikaela is 14 and loves reading, alternative music, FNAF, ballet and contemporary dancing, Minecraft, Fortnite, and Harry Potter. She particularly loves the Marauders Fandom. She is a classical ballet dancer and has danced in roles such as Lead Harlequin Doll, Spanish, Snow, and Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker. Her favorite things to do in Florida are going to Universal Orlando.
About Garrick
Garrick is 12 years old and our resident dinosaur expert. Garrick loves the beach, SpongeBob, drawing, songwriting, reading Dog Man and Cat Kid, and of course, all things dinosaurs. Garrick also loves visiting Universal Orlando, and his favorite meet-and-greet is with SpongeBob.
About Ofelia
Ofelia is our tiniest little traveler. She can’t really tell us her favorite places to visit yet, but we are sure she’ll love exploring all that Florida has to offer!
