The best food at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
So you’re here looking for the best food at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You’re in the right place because today I will share the best things to eat in the Wizarding World.
Before we get started, let me introduce myself. My name is Amy, and I’m a Universal Travel Agent, a long-time Universal Annual Passholder, and a Florida resident. I’d love to help you plan your Universal vacation! Contact me today to learn more.
What to eat in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Now, let’s talk about what to eat in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Wizarding World doesn’t have as many vegan or allergy-friendly options as other parts of the parks, but it is getting better!
Just know that most vegan and allergy-friendly food at Universal is found outside of the Wizarding World. However, we see more vegan options popping up in the Wizarding World, such as the vegan pasty mentioned below!
Muggle Tip, rent a car for your Universal vacation
You’ll definitely need a rental car if you’re flying into Orlando. I recommend renting a car from Discount USA Car Rental. They have the best prices, and you don’t have to pay until you pick it up!
Discount USA Rental Cars doesn’t rent flying cars or broomsticks yet, but maybe in the future. 😉 Now, let’s get to the best Wizarding World food.
Wizarding World food
Here is the best food at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, in no particular order.
1. Butterbeer
Ah, Butterbeer. You can’t miss this iconic Harry Potter treat. There are several varieties of Butterbeer, including regular, warm, frozen, ice cream, potted cream, fudge, and sometimes more! There’s also a vegan/dairy-free version now!
Since it is a trademarked drink, you can’t order it without the topping (which contains dairy), but you can ask for the dairy-free version if you are vegan or have an allergy. This iconic Wizarding World beverage is easily one of the most popular treats at Universal Orlando and also one of the most Instagrammable.
2. Fish & Chips
Three Broomsticks offers this classic option with beer-battered cod and a side of fries (or, as they say across the pond, chips.) You can also get this meal at The Leaky Cauldron. This simple classic is a popular choice and a great meal if you want something quickly.
3. Chocolate Frog
There’s nothing like a Chocolate Frog on a hot summer day. I’m just kidding. But seriously, you should know that these things melt fast. There’s also a dark chocolate frog option, but it’s not fully dairy-free.
These are certainly an iconic Wizarding World treat, and they come with collectible cards like the ones used in the Harry Potter movies.
Here are the cards that are currently available:
- Albus Dumbledore
- Godric Gryffindor
- Helga Hufflepuff
- Rowena Ravenclaw
- Salazar Slytherin
- Hengist of Woodcroft
- Gilderoy Lockhart
- Jocunda Sykes
- Devlin Whitehorn
- Bertie Bott
4. Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans
Do you want to try a jelly bean and have no idea whether it’s apple or vomit-flavored? If you said “yes,” then Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour beans are for you! My kids think these are so fun, and I think they are absolutely disgusting.
Some flavors include lemon, earwax, watermelon, black pepper, and more! You never know what you’ll get, so proceed with extreme caution.
Shopping for candy at Honeydukes is a must!
5. Bangers and Mash
This British class can also be found at the Three Broomsticks or The Leaky Cauldron. It consists of sausage, mashed potatoes, and peas covered in gravy and sautéed onions.
6. Pumpkin Juice
I know this is supposed to be a list of the best food at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but I have to add one more drink to the list!
Now, you might know that I can’t have gluten and mostly avoid dairy, so pumpkin juice is my favorite on this list of best foods at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It’s a tasty apple juice with just the right amount of pumpkin – not too much.
This beverage can be found at the Hopping Pot or just about anywhere else in Diagon Alley. The carts sell plastic bottles, but you can order them in a cup too.
7. Beef Pasties
When you walk up to the Hopping Pot in the corner of Diagon Alley, you’re likely ordering a Butterbeer, Fishy Green Ale, or another beverage. However, this location also serves beef pasties.
The buttery crust and savory beef make the perfect snack. Pair with a Fishy Green Ale for a fun snack. This drink didn’t quite make the list of the best food in the Wizarding World, but it’s one you must try at least once. There’s a vegan version too!
8. Traditional English Breakfast
One of the most popular options at the Three Broomsticks, this was an easy add to the best food at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Traditional English Breakfast includes farm fresh eggs, sausage links, baked beans, grilled tomato, black pudding, English bacon, sautéed mushrooms, and breakfast potatoes.
Pair it with pumpkin juice or Butterbeer to start your day in true Wizarding World fashion. If you book your Universal vacation with me, I can set up breakfast ahead of time at a discounted rate!
9. Shepherd’s Pie
Shepherd’s Pie is another traditional English dish served at the Three Broomsticks. It consists of lamb and vegetables and is covered in mashed potatoes.
Fortunately for those who don’t eat meat, there’s even a brand-new vegan pasty in The Wizarding World. Found at Magic Neep Cart, you can order a vegan shepherd’s pasty pie.
This new dish consists of meatless beef crumbles and vegetable stew hand pie. It is served with stone-ground mustard dipping sauce, apple beet salad, and wedge fries. It can also be found at the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley.
10. Cauldron Cake
I had to add another snack to this list of the best food at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Served in a reusable silicone cauldron (should you ever need a cauldron again), the Cauldron Cake is one of the Wizarding World’s most Insta-worthy snacks!
This snack is available at Honeydukes in Hogsmeade and Sugarplums Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley.
These are just a few options for the best food at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. For current pricing and dining options, you can check out the menus online. Here is the menu for the Leaky Cauldron and Three Broomsticks menu.
The best food at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
I hope you enjoyed this list of the best food at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. If you’re worried this doesn’t sound too kid-friendly, don’t worry; most of the Wizarding World restaurants have American favorites, too – like chicken nuggets.
