20 Disney Park Bag Essentials
Here are 20 Disney Park Bag essentials for your Disney vacation. If you’re planning a Disney World vacation, one of the most common things to figure out is Disney park bag must-haves. You don’t want to overpack, but you also don’t want to leave anything you might need behind at the hotel!
This list of essentials for a Disney park bag covers the things to bring to the Disney parks and explains why you might need (or not need) them!
Plan your vacation with a Disney Travel Agent!
Before we get to the Disney Park bag essentials, let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Amy, and I’m a Florida resident, Disney Annual Passholder, mom of the Florida Travel with Kids-kids, and a Disney College of Knowledge graduate. I keep up with the latest Disney news; it’s my job! If you’re interested in saving money and time by booking with a Certified Disney Travel Agent, make sure to contact me!
Disney park bag must-haves
Depending on when you’re visiting Disney World and the ages of your group, you may not need all of these Disney Park Bag essentials. However, many of these are a must for any Disney vacation!
Fanny pack
If you’re lucky, you may be able to use a fanny pack as your Disney Park Bag. This may not work if you have little ones, but even if you need multiple bags, it can be good to keep a fanny pack to keep anything important (wallet, keys) while you leave your larger bag in the stroller. Amazon has some cute Disney hip bags.

Disney Loungefly bag
If you have older kids, you may be able to get away with using just a Disney Loungefly bag (or two) for your Disney park bag. Even if you need a larger bag, a Loungefly can be a fun way for teens or older kids to carry their own stuff around.
Water bottle
Don’t buy $5 bottles of water if you don’t have to! Bring a refillable water bottle like a Hydroflask. There are re-fill stations around the parks and any quick service restaurant will also give you a cup of ice water.
Snacks
One of our best best money saving tips for Disney World is to bring some of your own snacks.
Power bank
From Disney Genie to Mobile Order to maps of the park to Lighting Lanes, you’ll likely be using the Disney app a lot. This can really drain your battery, so make sure to bring a power bank like a Fuel Rod (which you can switch out at both Disney and Universal) or another type of power bank.
Cooling towels
Grab some cooling towels for your Disney park bag and thank me later! Frogg Toggs are the best!
Blanket or towel
If you’re visiting in the winter, a blanket for chilly evenings may be necessary! Even if you’re visiting during the summer, it can be nice to have a blanket or towel if you’re staying for fireworks. Bonus points if it’s a cute, Disney blanket.
Rain ponchos
If there’s one thing you should know about visiting Orlando during the summer, it’s that it rains almost every day. The rain almost never lasts all day, but you’ll usually experience a downpour in the afternoon. Rain ponchos can save you from getting soaked, and are handy for water rides too! You can buy them at Disney, but you’ll save a lot by purchasing them before your Disney vacation. You can even get Disney-themed rain ponchos on Amazon.
Misting fan
A misting fan is a must for any hot day and can really make a difference. You can even buy cute, Disney-themed misting fans before you go.
Glow sticks
Glow sticks are fun, especially at night, so bring some in your Disney park bag. Buying a big pack on Amazon before your Disney vacation will save a lot of money.
Bubble wand
If you have a little one who would love a Bubble wand, I’ll let you in on a secret, you can get them MUCH cheaper outside the parks! Bringing your own will save a lot of money. You can grab one on Amazon, or in various stores like Wal-Mart or Target near Disney.
Disney ears
No Disney park outfit is complete without a cute set of Disney ears. We have a blog post with the best Minnie Ears for Disney outfit ideas for more inspiration.
Carabiner
A carabiner is a must whether you have a stroller or just need a good way to strap your popcorn bucket to your Disney park bag. Fortunately, Amazon has some cute Disney-themed carabiners which are a Disney park bag must-have.
Hand sanitizer
Although you’ll still find hand sanitizer around the Disney parks, it can be nice to have your own.
Autograph book/pen
If you plan to get autographs from characters, don’t forget to bring an autograph book and pen or Sharpie. Here’s a Disney pro tip: a large Sharpie is easier for some characters to use!
Baby wipes
Whether you have a baby or not, baby wipes can come in handy for cleaning hands or wiping off a table.
Sunscreen
One of the most important Disney park bag essentials is sunscreen! Orlando is not on the surface of the sun, but sometimes it feels like it. The sun can be pretty intense (especially if you’re not used to it) so make sure to bring sunscreen in your park bag. We like “All Good” sunscreen which is reef-friendly (perfect for a day at the beach) and skin-friendly too.
A Dole Whip is the perfect way to cool off on a sunny day! Check out where to find Dole Whip at Disney World to find our favorite Disney snack.
Basic first aid kit
You don’t need an entire first aid kit, but it can be nice to bring simple things like bandaids, ibuprofen or Tylenol, nausea medicine, etc.
Stroller fan
Obviously, you won’t need this if you don’t have a stroller, but if you do, a stroller fan is a must! You may also want to consider a rain cover for a stroller, but remember these can get hot so check the temperature and be sure to use a good stroller fan. We like this one, which is under $20!
Portable sound machine
If you have a baby or toddler who might nap in the stroller, a portable sound machine can be a lifesaver! Again, not everyone will need this, but it’s one of those Disney park bag essentials that can come in really handy for some!
Extra clothes
From the rain to water rides to splash bags, there are lots of ways to get wet at Disney. If you have little ones who might get uncomfortable, it can be a good idea to bring some extra clothes in your Disney park bag.
