I don’t know if all the gold in Gringott’s could buy you one of everything (it probably could), but don’t worry, you don’t have to buy everything.

1. Bags

You can buy lots of fun bags at Universal, but you can get the same ones cheaper online. I love the Loungefly mini backpacks because they fit perfectly in the free Universal lockers. Don’t bring a larger bag than you have to. Most of the free lockers will not accommodate a large bag.

You’ll either have to pay for a locker or leave your items with a non-rider. Another hint is that you can wear a fanny pack or hip bag on many of the rides at Universal!

Just make sure it has a 3-prong closer; many rides will allow you to keep it on. You might not need a locker if you can fit everything you need in a hip pack!

2. Wizarding World Gear

Buying robes at Madam Malkin’s in the Wizarding World is fun, but it’s also over $100 each.

Now, if you have a big family or don’t feel like shelling out $100+ for a robe, you can buy those before.

Amazon sells many Universal-themed shirts and other apparel, including everything from Harry Potter to Jurassic Park.

This robe was from Amazon, and it’s pretty good quality at 1/3 the price of those available at Universal!

3. Lanyards

Universal Studios has a lot of lanyards, but only a few for the Wizarding World. If you want a unique lanyard, there are plenty on Amazon.

Almost everyone at Universal will be wearing a lanyard! It’s just handy for carrying your passes, license, credit cards, etc.

4. Universal Resort

You can’t buy the resort, but I would consider staying at a Universal Resort. Resort guests can access the Wizarding World of Harry Potter a full hour before the park opens. We also love and highly recommend the Cabana Bay Resort. The pricing is great, and it offers many amenities for families.

If it’s within your budget, the Signature Resorts that include Express Passes are a great value and just a short walk from Universal CityWalk.

• Loews Royal Pacific

5. Park to Park ticket

You need to buy a park-to-park ticket before heading to Harry Potter World. A park-to-park ticket is the only way you can ride the Hogwarts Express!

6. Ponchos

Here’s a little advice about Florida: it rains!! It rains, and it rains a lot. It will probably rain in the afternoon, especially if you visit during summer. Instead of seeking cover or heading back to your hotel, bring a poncho!

You’ll want to bring one because they’re very pricey at the park. You can also bring an umbrella, but it’s easier to pack a poncho. You can buy a 5-pack on Amazon and keep them in your park bag.

You can usually tell the locals from visitors because us Florida residents are used to the summer rain!

7. Muggle Money

Bring your muggle money, and bring a lot! There are many things that you’re still going to want to buy while visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
