Visiting Disney World with a baby

Visiting Disney World with a Baby

Heading to Disney World with a baby might sound intimidating, but with a little planning, it can be just as magical as any other Disney trip. From baby-friendly rides to Baby Care Centers, Disney World is surprisingly baby-friendly, especially if you plan your trip around your little one’s needs.

One of the best ways to make your visit smooth and stress-free is to stay at a Disney World resort on property. On-site hotels come with perks like early park entry, easy access to the parks for midday naps, and convenient dining options—all of which are lifesavers for parents traveling with a baby.

Plan your vacation with a Disney Travel Agent!

Before we get to the details of visiting Disney World with a baby, let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Amy, and I’m a Florida resident, Disney Annual Passholder, and a Disney College of Knowledge graduate. Oh, and I also have a baby!

I keep up with the latest Disney news; it’s my job! If you’re interested in saving lots of time by booking with a Disney Travel Agent, make sure to contact me!

Do you need to rent a stroller in Orlando? We recommend Orlando Stroller Rentals! Bringing your own? You may have heard about expensive strollers like the Doona getting stolen. If you want to leave your pricey stroller at home, we use (and love) the BabyTrend Expedition Jogger, which has everything you need at a lower price point.

Star Wars Land vs. The Wizarding World

This guide covers everything you need to know: rides, feeding, naps, stroller tips, and baby-friendly dining.

Planning Your Trip to Disney World with a Baby

When traveling with an infant, timing and hotel choice are key.

When is the best time to visit Disney World with a baby? Choose shoulder seasons with lighter crowds and milder weather. The summer may be too hot for young infants who can’t regulate their temperature yet. Fall and spring are good choices with lighter crowds if you can avoid school breaks.

Disney hotels make life much easier for families with babies. You can take mid-day breaks in your room for naps and have easy access to anything you need. We recommend staying in a Disney resort along the Skyliner line, as the Skyliner is a family-friendly mode of travel where single strollers do not have to be folded!

Disney World with a Baby Packing Essentials

A well-packed diaper bag is your best friend:

Of course, there are obvious things like diapers, wipes, a changing pad, and extra clothes. If your baby is eating solids, you may want to consider snacks.

Here are some things we recommend that you may not have thought of:

  • Kid-safe Sunscreen (for babies over 6 months!) We like the All Good brand.
  • A sun hat and/or sunglasses
  • A baby carrier
  • A portable stroller. You can rent one for Orlando Stroller rentals, or bring a cheaper one if you have one at home that you don’t want to lose/get stolen/get damaged. We have and use a MomPush Wiz and love it! A baby carrier for lines is also great to bring. The Tula Lite is great for hot days.
  • Portable fan for hot days

Pro tip: If you’re bringing formula or breast milk, Disney security is familiar with baby items, so you’ll breeze through. I do recommend a medical tag if you’re bringing a pump or milk with you.

What are the best Disney Parks for babies?

This one is easy! Although all Disney parks are baby and family-friendly, there are two that are better than the other two. Magic Kingdom is perfect for babies and toddlers, as most rides have no height requirements. EPCOT is another fantastic choice with plenty of rides that babies can go on, as well as a large aquarium!

While there are things to do with babies at both Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, EPCOT or Magic Kingdom would be our pick if you only plan to visit 1-2 parks.

Baby-Friendly Rides and Attractions

Even babies can enjoy Disney World! We have an entire blog post dedicated to Rides Without a Height Requirement at Disney World. Most of these rides are baby-friendly. Just keep in mind that some rides may spin or move too quickly. Here are some of the gentlest options in each park:

Magic Kingdom: Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid
EPCOT: The Seas with Nemo & Friends,
Hollywood Studios: Toy Story Mania (Honestly, this is not the best park if you want your baby to be able to ride anything!)
Animal Kingdom: Kilimanjaro Safaris

Rider Switch is also available to allow parents to ride one at a time.

A cute baby souvenir at Disney World

One of the best souvenirs you can buy is the Magic Kingdom Silhouette Souvenir. In Magic Kingdom, you’ll find the cart on Main Street. There is also one in EPCOT in the France Pavilion. Locations are subject to change, so ask a Cast Member if you can’t find it! It’s also really affordable at under $20.

If you have older kids (or want a nice souvenir for you), check out some of our favorite souvenirs, like a Droid at Hollywood Studios or making a custom Tiara at Magic Kingdom.

Baby Care Centers

Disney World’s Baby Care Centers are a lifesaver for parents visiting the parks with an infant. Each park has its own center, designed to provide a quiet, comfortable space away from the crowds. Inside, you’ll find private nursing rooms, changing tables, high chairs, and even microwaves to heat bottles or baby food. They also offer items you can purchase in case you forgot anything.

Feeding Your Baby

Feeding your baby at Disney World is easy. If you’re looking for privacy or quiet, nursing moms can find comfortable spaces throughout the parks, including benches in shaded areas and dedicated spots inside Baby Care Centers. If you pump, I highly recommend the Baby Care Center for comfort and A/C!

For parents using formula, Disney security is very familiar with baby items, so bringing bottles or pre-mixed formula is hassle-free. Baby Care Centers also have microwaves for heating food if you need it.

For older babies, quick-service restaurants often carry pureed fruit or vegetable options, which can be a convenient backup if you forget supplies. Planning ahead and knowing where to feed your baby can make your Disney day smoother and keep your little one happy.

Best Tips for Visiting Disney World with a Baby

Here are our top tips for visiting Disney World with a baby:

  • Don’t overplan your day; plan to have downtime.
  • Consider Lightning Lanes so no one has to wait in line for very long.
  • Choose Magic Kingdom and EPCOT if you need to prioritize which parks to visit
  • Buy or make a stroller tag!
  • Choose the Skyliner as transportation when possible (you don’t have to fold a single stroller)
  • Utilize the Baby Care Centers for feeding, changing, or even just a break in the A/C
  • Don’t stress. It can be chaotic visiting Disney with a baby, but it can also be magical and even if they don’t remember it, you will!
