If you have no idea where to start, I have you covered! First, I will tell you where to take Instagram-worthy photos at Universal Studios.
By the time you are finished reading, you will be more than ready to visit Universal armed with the knowledge of the best Instagram spots at Universal.
Do I need a rental car for a Universal vacation?
I like to get around as needed while on vacation, so I like to rent a car. If you decide to rent a car in Orlando, I recommend renting a car from Discount USA Car Rental.
Discount USA Car Rental offers excellent rates, and you can use it at MCO or most other Florida airports.
Where to buy Universal tickets
I highly recommend buying your tickets through Undercover Tourist. Unfortunately, there are many scammy sites out there, so make sure you’re booking through an approved partner like Undercover Tourist.
Best Instagram Spots at Universal
Here are some of the best photo spots at Universal, even if you don’t share them on Instagram! I am sharing these in no particular order, but you can probably tell anything to do with the Wizarding World, and Jurassic Park are favorites for our family!
Universal Studios Orlando Globe
When you reach the end of CityWalk, before you enter Universal Studios Florida, you will see this globe. It is one of the most Instagrammable spots at Universal Studios.
You might have to wait for the globe to turn before snapping a picture. Yes, it could be crowded. And yes, it will be one of your favorite ways to start the day!
Now, if you don’t arrive early enough and the globe is crowded, you have another option. Most people are too tired to capture a picture with them in front of this globe at the end of the day. Instead, they want to get back to their resort.
Take advantage of that and take pictures as you leave Universal Studios. This is definitely one of the best photo spots at Universal, if not the best!
If you have questions about all the Loungefly backpacks and why we love them, check out the best bags for Universal Studios.
Photo Pass photographers are generally around to take photos around the globe too. So check out this throwback to 2019 when Kainan was shorter than me!
Hogwarts Express at Hogsmeade Station
Do you love Harry Potter? If you do, you must take an Instagram-worthy photo in front of the train at Hogsmeade Station. This station is over in Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
When you are finished taking pictures, hop on the train and take it to King’s Cross Station at Universal Studios.
Toothsome Chocolate Emporium
Incredible milkshakes are waiting for you at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium. They’re delicious. They’re big. And the inside of the restaurant, plus the milkshakes, are the most Instagrammable spots at Universal Orlando.
VooDoo Donuts
VooDoo Donuts has its storefront on CityWalk. Unfortunately, the line still starts early and stays long.
Even if you don’t grab a box of donuts, you can sit on the VooDoo Donuts throne for a picture. This is easily one of the best photo spots at Universal because who doesn’t want to sit on a throne made of donuts?
Garrick was hot, and we didn’t get a photo without him wiping his face. Oh well!
Toon Lagoon’s “I’m Going to Need a Vacation from this Vacation” Sign
There is a sign over in Toon Lagoon at Islands of Adventure. It states, “I’m Going to Need a Vacation from this Vacation.” Snap a picture to remember that moment when you declare you need another vacation a few days after you return home.
Hush-a-Bomb
Toon Lagoon is also known for its Hush-a-Bomb feature. But don’t worry; this bomb won’t explode during your visit. Instead, it’s one of the best photo spots at Universal.
The Volcano at Volcano Bay
You may not visit Volcano Bay when you are on vacation in Orlando. However, if you do, make sure you capture the volcano in your pictures. Maybe a video with all the water flowing down it too.
Truffula Trees
It is easy to miss the truffula trees within Seuss Landing. They kind of blend in with the rest of the decor. But they are picture-perfect, especially if you are eating cotton candy from the nearby sweet shop in front of them.
Caro-Seuss-El
Get ready to ride the Caro-Seuss-El multiple times to capture the most Instagram-worthy photo. The ride doesn’t go too fast, but your reflexes must be quick to get the perfect shot. This is one of the best Instagram spots at Universal for kids!
Seuss Landing
Trying to find a Who in Seuss Landing can be a trying experience. But, if you can find a Who, you may capture one of the best pictures at Universal Studios.
This is one of the best photo spots at Universal for kids! But Suess Landing is so colorful and fun; it’s great for adults too.
The Butterbeer Truck
You know you love all variations of the Butterbeer at Universal Orlando. So while you are staking out the butterbeer truck, grab a few photos. It is one of the best Instagram spots at Universal.
You can also choose to stand anywhere in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade with a glass or cup of Butterbeer. Did you know you can now order Butterbeer without the topping? This is excellent news if you’re vegan or lactose intolerant! Check out NEW Vegan food at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to learn more.
Yellow Taxi
Unless you live or spend a lot of time in New York City, you probably don’t see a lot of yellow taxis. However, in front of the Beverly Hills Boulangerie at Universal Studios, you will spot one waiting for a customer.
The taxi is right when you walk into the park. So, don’t fly past it because you are in a hurry to reach your favorite ride.
New York City Section of Universal Studios
If you want to feel like you have been transported to New York City, head to this area of the park. Classic signs and vintage alleys are waiting for you to explore. And take pictures!
Bonus: There are hardly ever any people in this area. This is perfect for those shots you don’t want people in.
The Knight Bus
The Knight Bus is across from Diagon Alley at Universal Studios. The driver of the bus is usually on hand for pictures.
The line can get long at this bus. I mean, long enough that you are wasting precious time you could be spending on rides.
You can wait your turn or venture to the back of the bus and grab a photo there. Few people know about this trick, so you might want to keep it to yourself.
I think the back of the bus is easily one of the best photo spots at Universal. It’s one of my favorites and not very well-known!
Number 12 Grimmauld Place
Grab a step at Grimmauld Place. Number 12 is the Black family’s home. That front step is the most popular. The house-elf, Kreacher, can be seen peeking through the curtains. This is one of the best Instagram spots at Universal but not everyone realizes what is going on here!
The Fire-Breathing Dragon
If you’re looking for the best Universal Studios photo spots, this is it! The dragon in Diagon Alley breathes fire on a regular schedule. If you can’t figure it out, wait for a group of people to form below. It’s about every 10 minutes.
Once you’ve seen the dragon breathing fire, decide where to stand for the perfect picture. Then stand your ground until it happens again, and you get your photo.
The Three Broomsticks
Grabbing a picture outside the Three Broomsticks is a must. You can do this before or after you eat. Try to have a cup of Butterbeer in your hand to make it look even more authentic.
Remember, you are going for the whole Harry Potter experience here!
Hogwarts Castle
Hogwarts Castle is every Harry Potter fan’s dream destination. Unfortunately, it can get busy in front of this castle. I have found one of the best Instagram spots from the bridge next to the castle. There are fewer people, but you’ll probably have to wait your turn because this spot is no secret!
Bonus points if you strike a crazy pose in front of Hogwarts Castle.
Hogsmeade
The entire area of Hogsmeade is Instagram-worthy. This is one of the best Instagram spots at Universal. Diagon Alley is another option when you want plenty of pictures in the world of Harry Potter.
Okay, this restroom is NOT one of the best photo spots at Universal. However, it does contain one of the hidden secrets of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! If you go into the women’s restroom, you can hear Moaning Myrtle!
Check out the problem with Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure to learn a little more about this ride. There’s a perfect spot in the queue for a photo of Hogwarts Castle too!
Honeydukes
Taking a photo outside Honeydukes (preferably with your candy haul) is always a good idea.
The Herbology Classroom
The Herbology classroom can be found in the queue for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. It’s one of the best Instagram spots at Universal because it’s mostly a secret! When the parks aren’t busy, you don’t even go over here to see the mandrakes and other creatures.
Bonus points if you have a Herbology shirt!
The Simpsons Ride
You can’t miss the giant Krusty head when you enter the Simpsons ride. Stand in front of it for an incredible picture.
Lard Lad Donuts
Pink-iced donuts are available for purchase in Krustyland. Purchase one and then pose next to the Simpson’s patrol officer outside the donut shop.
In front of the MIB sign
Have you achieved the status of “Galaxy Defender?” If so, why not take a photo by the HUGE Men in Black: Alien Attack sign.
Hollywood Sign
Universal Orlando is in Orlando (obviously) but taking a photo by the Hollywood sign is an excellent way to pretend you are on vacation in sunny California instead. Although, you could always go to Universal Studios Hollywood!
In the Velocicoaster Queue
You wouldn’t think that a queue (line) would provide great photo ops, but lots of them at Universal do just that! So if you’re looking for the best photo spots at Universal, don’t skip the queues! Some of our favorites include any Harry Potter ride, Minions, Transformers, and of course, the Velocicoaster!!
Jaws
Jaws, the ride may be forever gone at Universal Studios. However, the great white shark is still hanging. I recommend getting this picture checked off your list early in the day. This most Instagrammable spot at Universal Orlando gets crowded later in the day.
Jurassic Park Jeep and T-Rex
I know you don’t want to come face-to-face with a real T-Rex while at Universal Orlando! But, hopefully, you can handle it just long enough for a photo because this is one of the best Islands of Adventure photo spots!
Jurassic Park Gates
Can you think of a more iconic spot? I can’t! This is one of the best Instagram spots in Universal, but you’ll have to time it right because this gate goes from Hogsmeade to Jurassic Park, so it’s quite a busy place.
Surf Boards Outside Billabong
On CityWalk, there is a Billabong shop. Outside the store, you will find surfboards. Catch the perfect wave and share away on Instagram.
If you can’t tell by now, there is one kid who likes finding the best photo spots at Universal, and the other two? Maybe not so much, unless it involves Jurassic Park. Still, this is one of the best Instagram spots at Universal in City Walk!
Vintage Cars at Mel’s Drive-In
This vintage drive-in serves delicious foods families will love! It’s also a great photo spot at Universal if you love vintage cars.
Simpson’s Fence
The Simpson’s Fence is near the Kwik-E-Mart. Some of the most recognized faces from the Simpsons can be seen on this fence. Stand next to them for memorable pictures. You can also grab some great photos with the characters nearby!
The best Instagram spots at Universal Orlando
I hope this list of the best Instagram spots at Universal helps you capture the perfect Insta-worthy during your vacation! And don’t worry; you don’t have to use Instagram to take advantage of the best photo spots at Universal. It’s fun to share anywhere online or even print them and add them to your desk!
