If you’re planning a Florida vacation and looking for the best strawberry picking, you’ve come to the right place. Picking berries with your kids is a wonderful experience and something that we really love to do as a family. Plus, you’ll get the freshest strawberries if you pick them yourselves. Strawberry u-pick farms are a great way to spend a relaxing day in Florida.
So let’s find a strawberry patch and head on out. Now, you might wonder, “when is strawberry season in Florida?” Winter! Florida is known as the winter strawberry capital of the world.
The strawberry picking season in Florida runs from November through May. Yes, you’ll experience plenty of sunny days, even in the winter in Florida.

Here are 10 of the best local farms in Florida for u-pick strawberries. You’ll want to check weather conditions and hours before heading out to local farms. Also, make sure to bring your own containers and your own basket. Some farms may offer them, but most do not.

Spivey Farms, Plant City Florida
If you’re looking for Plant City strawberries, check out Spivey Farms! This is a great place to grab some fresh strawberries. U-pick season does vary, so make sure to check out their website before heading to the farm.

Strawberry Passion Organic Farms, Thonotosassa Florida
Strawberry Passion Organic Farms offers certified organic strawberries, vegetables, and fresh produce, herbs, and more. The hours of operation are generally 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM but make sure to check their Facebook page for current hours.
It is run by local farmers and offers seasonal u-picks when available.

JG Ranch, Brooksville Florida
JG Ranch is everything you imagine in a family farm! Founded in 2001 by Joan and George Casey, JG Ranch is a family-owned and -operated boutique farm run by the next generation of Caseys. You’ll find thousands of u-pick strawberry, blackberry, and blueberry plants and a variety of fresh produce and honey to purchase. U-pick blueberries are also available in April and May.
This is one of the best u-pick strawberry farms, with a strawberry season of November through April. You can also purchase honey and maybe even have the chance to say hello to the farm animals too!

Upicktopia, Masaryktown Florida
With a name like Upicktopia, you probably already guessed that this is a local u-pick farm. You’ll find strawberry plants at Upicktopia, but you’ll find so much more, including watermelon, blackberries, blueberries, sweet corn, beets, wine, and so much more.
They say: “We are a blueberry and u-pick farm with over 56 acres of land to grow delicious fruits and vegetables. We started in 1996 as a commercial blueberry farm, but we are now morphing into a u pick operation that will have as many different types of fruits and vegetables imaginable.”

Honeyside Farms, Parrish Florida
Honeyside Farms offers fresh, organic produce by 5th-generation farmers. If organic berries are important to you (after all, strawberries are on the dirty dozen), you’ll want to head over here.
Located in the Southwest Florida area (close to Sarasota), Honeyside farms offers all kinds of fresh fruits and fresh produce that you can find at Lakewood Ranch Farmer’s Market. You can also grab some raw local honey!
If you want to pick your own strawberries, you can do that during the strawberry season from November through May.

Pappy’s Patch, Oviedo Florida
Pappy’s Patch is located in Oviedo, just outside of Orlando. Pappy’s Patch is a family-owned farm. They don’t have a website, but you can check out their Facebook page to learn more. They are available for seasonal u-picks from late December through April and are open every day of the season, weather permitting.

Far Reach Farm, Tavares Florida
Far Reach Farm is located in Tavares, near Lake Dora in Central Florida.
The farm was established in 1947 as a cattle ranch and orange grove and eventually became a blueberry farm. Since then, the blueberry fields have grown to several dozen acres and various types of berries. Delicious strawberries were added in 2019, and they are currently expanding to peaches and other produce. Far Reach Farm allows you to pick your own berries (strawberries and blueberries.)

Browns Farm, Hawthorne Florida
Located in Orange Heights, Florida, John Henry Brown began what is currently Brown’s Farm in 1916 with pecan groves. Browns Farmstand now offers a variety of produce, including strawberries, zucchini, tomatoes, and more. You can contact the Brown family by email or phone to check availability.

Oak Haven Farms and Winery, Sorrento Florida
If you’re looking for one of the best places to pick your own strawberries and enjoy some win, Oak Haven Farms and winery is the place for you! In their words: “Oak Haven Farms & Winery has been a fixture in the Lake County farming landscape, growing mouth-watering strawberries since 1996 and local Florida wine since 2010.”
Strawberry picking season typically starts in early December, but make sure to check out their website for availability. On the weekends, they also offer a country kitchen for u-roast hot dogs, soda, chips, home-style strawberry shortcakes, and strawberry sundaes.

Crossroads Farm and Apiary (formerly) Rogers farm) is a family-owned farm in North Florida. They offer strawberries, fresh honey, and a fall festival. The Fall Festival runs from October 8-November 6 so make sure to check it out if you’re in the area!
